About Done
Hi, my name is Ian Adams. I'm a professional designer & illustrator based in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC.

I started Done in 2010, originally as a way to design what I wanted and help raise money for environmental causes, while I was working for a design agency in Vancouver. Putting my designs and myself out there was a huge step, and doing so opened so many doors for me to eventually leave that full-time job, move back to my home town in the Comox Valley, and start my own professional journey.

I am co-owner of ROAM Media Inc., a small graphic design, photography, illustration firm that focuses on branding, packaging and marketing for a variety of businesses and organzations. Through ROAM, my business partner and I also created The Collective Magazines, a hyper-local focuses, grassroots publication showcasing the Comox Valley and Strathcona communities.

I still use Done as an escape from my corporate life and create my own art & apparel to help support various local environmental, wildlife conservation, and community initiatives by donating a portion of sales made at markets, my online store, my brick & mortar store + studio in Comox,  giving art or garments to silent auctions, or my professional time. Not only do I use Done as a way to get away from my corporate work, but as well as a way to get away from the computer and use more analog technniques, so I make and print as much as I can by hand.

THE RIBBON SERIES

When I started Done, the first 3 designs I made were of animals made of ribbons. The ribbons represent humans interwoven connection to wildlife and ecosystems we live in, and if one part of it is severed the whole thing will unravel. To this day I still create new illustrations of these animal designs by hand.

None of my art is created with the use of AI.
